Hi,
First mopar I owned was a 1960 Fury Convertible with a Commando 360. Lots of fun but that was 53 years ago now. Next (1979) I bought a 1966 Plymouth wagon, another 360, to move from California to Oregon. On the trip, the cats got out of their cage and under the seats... never got the smell out. Long dry spell until I bought a 1972 Duster (originally a 340, 4-speed) but sadly replaced with a 318 and a load of bondo. When I finally reached retirement (2015), I had a hankering for a truck and spotted a 65 D200 for sale and pulled over for a look. 318 poly, 4-speed. 2WD.
Turned out is was an "original owner" vehicle purchased by a concrete contractor who was a "good enough" per repairs guy and didn't believe trucks belonged in garages. It ran pretty well though and I drove it home. Since then, after a lot of cleaning but just a few real repairs (steering gear box, clutch hydraulics replaced, disc brakes installed in front, electrical work here and there, etc.) I just love driving the thing. It feels like it has a soul. I'll post a photo soon.
