is there a different rubber mount for auto and 4spd. I have a 4speed x-member and the mount is in front of the crossmember

Is that what your x-member looks like in the first pic? That to me looks like a a-body 4spd peice.
I just check your profile - don't know a lot about the 69's but you might be needing this style where the trans mount attaches to the rear with a boxed in plate area:

Hmmm I don't know enough about the 69's to make any helpful comments... except are you sure the right motor mounts are in there? If you've got the right xmember and it isn't lining up engine could be too far forward.

Except for one or two mounting studs on the xmember side the mounts are all the same and you can use either.

I'm sure someone who knows will be along shortly. Good luck!

some one on another site said the tailshft was wrong , should have 6.5 inches from trans casing to center of mount I only have 4.5 inches will have to use the auto cross member likje you showed. thanks for some help

the 70 B body 4 speed X-member looks like the one pictured with the "pocket" in the front

ok that would explain it since its a 70 trans in a 69 car I have to use the auto crossmember I have and not the 4spd I was trying to use thanks all
casting on it is PP8331070

My 67 car did not come with a drive train so the rear 4spd transmission did not come with the rear rubber mount.
My question is which direction is the stud off the rubber mount go towards the front or back?

I can not find any illustrations... Thanks

I know I asked this question to someone else once but forgot who.

There should be a hole for it to go into and it should only fit the one way.
