Super Bowl

Many professional athletes do countless charitable work and are otherwise decent Americans.
Whatever their political, views on racism, events facing our country today, my feeling is it’s in bad taste and sends the wrong message when they cannot show common respect for this country.
I personally feel politics have no place in professional sports
But then again disrespect for our democracy is limited to pro athletes either
I miss the days when entertainers, be it sports or Hollywood, just entertained and didn't push their agendas on everyone.

I enjoy watching college and NFL football and have no problem ignoring any political nonsense. I've been a Kansas City Chiefs fan my whole life and believe me it's been a rough lot of years of disappointment and losses. Watching the Chiefs play in last years Super Bowl was the first time I've seen my team play in it and I'm 52 years old and they won the sumbitch!! It's awesome to me to be able to see them try again today!! Forget the politics, grab a cold beer and watch some good football. Your all welcome to stop over, my shop of mopars also has two big screens and a fridge full of beer....GO CHIEFS

Hell yea! Wish I was closer. I was irritated at first, but then I realized that I'm sure not going to let politics and hurt feelings spoil football for me.

Go KC!

I’ll be watching.
I’m smart enough to recognize that the players have a right to exercise their first amendment, even if I don’t agree with them.

That 1st amendment is a pisser.

go ahead and “X” it up fellas. 1st amendment, ya know. :carrot:

That’s nonsense.
One side has tried desperately to cancel the NFL.
Seems it hasn’t worked.
Too bad that 1st Amendment only applies when you say what the powers that be WANT you to say. If you say otherwise, you get "cancelled".

Sadly, they have an entourage to film those 'very charitable acts' so that the masses see them in action performing those 'charitable acts'.....doesn't count as far as I am concerned.
Being noted for performing charitable acts is just performing ...or as others might say - Acting. :jackoff:

What everyone forgets is that the 1st Amendment applies only to the government stopping you from saying things about the government. NOTHING more. The 1st Amendment does not allow you to break your employers’ rules for respect and good conduct.

I could give a flying f... who wins or is even playing. I really haven't enjoyed many sports since Simms, LT, Bavaro, Carson, McConkey era.
However ....... I let my Bro talk me into buying a 3 grand box for the crew (used some mungo money against my better judgement). One of the bonus amounts was 5 g's for drawing **** numbers (5-5). Stadium isn't even open and we're up 2 grand.
What a country! However it turns out I'll be making increased donations to my local PBA and Wounded Warriors.

FOOK the National Felon League!!! There is no way I will watch the spectacle ever again unless the League changes its tune and much more...Those that continue to do so??? Nothing more really that I can say to that except if they like to waste an entire afternoon to do so, they obviously are prone to waste their time in many other pursuits. Just sayin' is all...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

General Discussion?

Generally, I don't watch sports. I haven't watched football since the late 1980s.

Sometimes, I'll watch MMA/Octagon bouts.
