I want to get two cars under cover here in florida.. I have been looking at Versatube's Pinnacle car port sized 18 X 30 X 9' high for about a year..
I was going to pull the plug but the bas tards went up $500 in the last 90 days or so??
Anyone on here have one or been around one??
TY for any experiences with one...

I have not but if you are talented look under "carport" in Craiglist and on FB marketplace for a used one to save you money. Heck in Florida I bet a lot of carports are available.

You would be surprised how many homes here have NO garages or carports

Order with the truss bracing .

...or a two car garage built into the house but converted to a master bedroom.

What are you looking to spend?

I had a 26x30 Carolina Carport installed (and 120 MPH wind anchored with 150 MPH upgrades) for $5K, but that was almost 15 years ago.

That would be too big for me.. I was at just under 3k for the 18 X 30 X 9ft high sides with the Pinnacle style roof ( metal roofing panels are from the peak down, not the front to rear wrap around roofing).. Its right at $3500 now.. Kit price, not installed..... Thats $500 of beer gone now.....LOL

Check them out though. You can build and add options (like the 150 MPH and the "vertical" roof) online and get a price.

In Florida, you’ll need the MPH wind load option based on your location, minimally. @joe smith most of Florida needs 150 MPH.

I didn't "need" the 150 cert, but for $250 I got all the 150 MPH upgrades except the actual cert (closer screw spacing, longer and heavier anchors, and heavier gauge sheet metal).

The other side of the 150 mile per hour equation is anchoring it to the ground to withstand 150 mph winds. An engineer should be consulted to design the foundation who is familiar with the soil conditions at the site. Paying for a 150 mph upgrade is no good if it stays together as it flies into the neighbor's pool or house.

No prob.

I ordered mine with full sides and gable ends only.

I ordered my own roll up doors for quite a bit less than buying them through the builder, and my local Lowes had an exact match for the exterior sheet metal in 10' panels.

I set some 4x4 posts in concrete for the door frames and some 2x4s for the back wall.

Hanging the doors was fun and interesting (especially with only me working on them) but not terrible and they work flawlessly.
(I have a thread or at least several posts on that project)

I am extremely happy with mine after almost 15 years.

There is only one area starting to rust and that is the galvanized skirt on one of the doors.

Even with the "vertical" roof design, leaves and branches still cling to the slopes and require occasional raking and pressure washing to remove.

The only things I'd have done differently are:

1- I added a foot to the height. I wish I'd have added 2. It was not that expensive.

2- I wish I could have afforded a concrete floor. At the time it would have tripled to quadrupled the cost.
(IIRC 12K where the building was 5K and the doors and extra panels were about $1500.

I had a Carolina Carport delivered and built 5 years ago. 20x21 with 2 closed sides rated to 140 mph hurricane winds per New Jersey code. It was $2400 installed in 1 morning. Those guys are quick! Yes, it snowed this morning.

Mine went up in less than 1 day as well.
