Just pulled engine & trans, I noticed tunnel mods that look like they were performed with cutting torch. Could this have been done in Hamtramck? Or is it post assembly mod?
Images taken from below shifter access hole.

Thanks.

Yep that's quality control, honestly Thats really not to bad I've seen a lot worse

I bought a Pontiac a few years back that I’m sure the guy used a broad axe on. It’s definitely “not original” but certainly not the worst I have seen!!!

We should be headed back to Ontario in May, ... maybe, depending on covid.
Cool. I’m supposed to be sitting in Mexico eating great food but I would have to quarantine twice upon return; once upon landing in Calgary and again here. Hopefully in the fall after hunting season...

Possible rework sealing evident on upper floor around shifter.

So you're saying it's not factory for what reason? I know they look quite bad from the factory but is it because of the hump itself or the way it was done?

Not saying that at all just referring to another post

My 66 Dart looks about the same as Dan's floor pan, drippy welds and all. I should look up in the parts book and see if there was a separate part number for a 4 speed floor pan. Maybe the factory took standard pans and cut and welded the sheet metal for the 4 speed. His looks original. Mine was originally a Inland shifter and switched to a Hurst at some time. That's why mine looked hacked or so I thought. May be not. I also didn't get the seat reinforcements on the floor pan. Mine was for a bench seat without the inside reinforcements near the tunnel.
