Love Montana! Got to live there for 3 years in the Forest Service. Beautiful country

I prefer the thermometer above zero, thank you.
So do I, but this ain't no picnic either: I have to do a brake job on the front of my son's car when I get home from work today and it's 18 degrees out there. No garage to work in & snow over ice. I sure as hell ain't lookin forward to it, especially at my age!

That sucks!!

:( I really try and avoid working on stuf this time of year.
If possible I'll wait unit a "warmer" day.
Big difference between 15 and 35 degrees.
I can heat up my barn with a propane heater but the floor is always cold.

When I was much younger living in ND I had to replace a head gasket on my first wife's B210 in the dead of winter w/o a garage, like -20 outside, built a tent over the car but didn't have a heater except for some heat lamps which took the edge off a little. Complete waste of time, head was warped, ended up scrapping the car...

Wow, that sux big time. Doing it to begin with is bad enough but all for naught?!? :cursin: I would wait for a warmer day, but we got more freakin snow coming tomorrow!:icon_fU:NJ weather! The front brakes are metal on metal! Those morons at the weather channel said this winter was to be warmer and drier than normal and it has been the exact opposite. Uncle Wiggly's rheumatism was a much better predictor!

Good God! If it's that cold in Texas, I guess I can't complain too much!

It was -2 when I woke up, now it's -11.

I was offered a pile of vintage stereo equipment for free this morning, just come get it. First come, first served.
It's 60 miles away, but I'm not risking it. Won't see me more than 1 mile from home. There's too much that can fail in these temps.

Wow, I like old stereo stuff, not nostalgic but it's a lot cheaper and most likely better made and maybe from USA. I have a pair of speakers from 1965 that I bought well used in 1970. One of the original air suspension types, with 15" bass, 8" midrange & 5" tweeters. Still working well for the 51 years I have had them. Main power was a Marantz model 2010 (only 10 watts RMS per channel). Used with a graphic equalizer amp and a reverb unit. The Marantz powered 5 pairs of speakers all this time. LOUD Rock music mostly, all over the house! Good Stuff! My ears are still ringin, Lol! Oh, the Marantz was a 2 or 3 year old display model when I bought it!

Global warming!
But going the other direction here. Its the usual weather. And every year is different.
Ill accept Global warming in the spring and summer. We only see about 4 months of nice weather then it goes for crap again. :)

I built these in 1978
Had to replace a few parts and put new foam surrounds in.
Gave them to my youngest son.
They have amazing sound.

I lived there for many years and the coldest I ever endured was -40 in Great Falls. Came out of the bowling alley late one night only to find all of the air had leaked out of the air shocks on my 66 belvedere. Felt like I drove up hill all the way home.

Tell that boy to watch a utube video of how to do it and let him freeze out there

Thanks, I like that idea. I would love to implement that, but my son is perceptually impaired. He's a very good driver and he's understands the how & the why most of the time but gets confused & frustrated. I guarantee that he will be out there with me and if he sees me doing this stuff enough times, eventually, it will sink in. The safety factors involved are what I try to stress before we actually start the repair. He at the very least can pass me a wrench or something when I'm in an awkward position or he can pump the brakes when we are bleeding them, etc. He lacks the self confidence to actually attempt anything like this by himself. I have had him change his oil on his 93 Wrangler and such, with me watching, and does okay. Of course, the Jeep is lifted and you don't need to jack it up to do a lot of things under it. This one is an old PT Cruiser that we only recently acquired. We will be replacing the bushings on the lower control arms on it this spring. Not that difficult a job but the old man is finding more difficult to get up off the ground these days, LOL. :D

i lived in missoula for about 12 years .... left in 2002. had a white 62 dart 2 door hard top model 440 when i was there ..... looking for it if ya see it let me know.... lol.
