The part that might bite him on the *** is the 66-67 has a different offset than the 68-70 or the 71-72... Plus the 66-67 is a smaller diameter than any of the others... Diameter is easy to deal with.. Offset is a bigger problem... You can make/buy spacers but getting the right parts is a better approach...
66-67 also used different brackets & the water pump housing had bosses in slightly different locations and also machined to different heights...

It also depends on the size of your w/p pulley. I have w/p pulleys from 6.5 to 7.25. Crank pulleys about the same sizes. Kim
The bolt pattern might have one bolt hole that needs to be elongated... Don't make the mistake of just forcing a bolt in, it never ends well...
Supposedly the change occurred in 72 but I've seen it on some 71's...

that crank pulley that came from that 71 383 worked just with my 68 383.which l knew it would both steel cranks and big block pulley.l lined it up with the a/c pulley l had on.bolt holes lined right up as well.thanks for the advice on here everyone makin sure to get right crank pulley.
