Couple of threads on engine performance got me thinking about the benefits reported about cold air intakes. I've done some web surfing finding pros & cons. Thought I'd toss this out to see if any members here have done this and if so, what you found...good, waste a money, pleading the 5th?
Thanks

I have always liked the 1968 W31 ram air. Simple and understated.

Yeah - there are kits that look just like that.

Laugh if you will but it worked for me.
Picked up almost a full 10th. Cost was $10 bucks.

Headlight bucket?
I assume the Grille, above it and below it, are high pressure areas. When a guy hits 90 mph, there is probably more pressure than one would guess. Nice, cool air for sure.

There are no downsides to fresh outside air. Just don't drive your 68 W31 through deep water or you''ll hydrolock your motor.

Wish the factory would have optioned this for the Hemi.
My friends Thunderbolt has a simple and very effective CAI.
The top picture was for NASCAR. Mine is the middle.

Pontiac claimed 15 hp gain over regular TA's with this WS6 scoop.

my AMX loved it, but the carbs would ice up in the right conditions........ under 45 degrees with high humidity meant guaranteed snow cones

Cold air is always better, it's denser than hot air. With proper jetting, increase power is the result.

Certainly goes with the muscle cars factory-equipped ram air, air grabber, etc. Appreciate you all sharing your info.

I found this place.

Looks good but I wouldn't do that to my car.

Love to have something like this that is quick and easy to remove and put on a stock air cleaner when wanted.
