I'm kinda weak with electrical problems. When I apply the foot brake my dash lights come on. When I use a turn signal my dash lights come on and blink with the signal. Anyone have any ideals how to fix. I need help. Lol. Thanks

Possibly a tail light bulb that is shorted out internally. Pull the bulbs and inspect them. Or replace them and try it again.

Your dash cluster is loosing its ground.

The dash is being used as the ground. Your brake light bulb socket(s) are not grounded (or not seeing ground) the the brake/indicator power is flowing back through the second marker light element in the dual element bulb to the light switch and the dash lights which are then going to ground.

Ok thanks everyone. Ill try your ideals

What do your dash lights do with just the headlights on?

with the lack of ground on cluster you could already burn out your gauges if limiter is in working order. Without ground to the voltage limiter it won't work and will send full 12 volts.

I'm toward to some rear socket/bulb failure as mentioned

Not sure. If I remember correctly. I think the dash lights go off or tail lights go off when turn headlight on.

If they are acting up separate of the brake and turn signals than it most likely is a ground.

Ok. Im going to work on it tomorrow. Thanks

the first you can try is disconect the tail lights from the rear body harness at trunk floor and check if problem continues. If not, then you isolated the problem. Then conect just driver side and check again... dunno the year and model you are working on and if you can make the same with passenger side.

68 coronet. Yeah ill unplug rear lights. See what happens

Thanks for everyone's help. It was the taillight socket shorting out. Even tho it was new. Lol. Fixed now. Thanks guys
