'70 charger, should the 2 steering column harness (plural) be routed under the column bracket ( as pictured ) or outside. It was originally routed under the bracket but the new ones seem to have too much volume to fit easily. I'm afraid of pinching or crushing some of the wires by forcing them into a very tight place. Thanks

you could remove the black ignition switch harness cover of the new ign switch and will get more room, just like originally was.

on a side note, please remove the thin black wire from the ign switch plug. That's for other cars setup not needed on 70/74 A/B/E bodies. That wire is meeting with the orange wire on underdash harness of your car which is the cluster dimmer light circuit.

Can't recall if that extra black wire handles ground from ign switch or positive on ACC position but in either case, will cause problems with the cluster dimmer light circuit... burning it ( blowing fuse ) or lighting on when is not required

Was searching where I had this info saved but didn't remember... untill checked my iPad. It's a ground signal used for trigger some accesories from ign switch on some C bodies.

So if you keep it, could short out the dimmer light circuit if ign switch is on and you turn on lights

Hey Nacho, Thanks for heads-up on this but it may be too late. When I got the car the dimmer switch did not dim anything, but all the lights on the dash worked. Was going to replace dimmer, at some point in time, until I saw the price of a new one. I will remove the 18g black #8 pin any way. Thanks Again.
