I am getting (maybe) 2 Eagle SX4's in the near future.

Trying to determine parts availability and value's, any body in to AMC's?

My brother inlaw had one and I loved it,you could go just about anywhere with it. My only complaint was the plastic valve covers.

I've messed around with Eagles. I think most everything Eagle is available, and cheap (compared to Mopar stuff).

I like those. My father had one, a wagon. Pretty stout car as it got driven on a lot of rough graded roads and did if comfortable. Think it had the inline 232 6. Got hit by a snowplow when it was parked or I’d probably have it now.

Eagles were great in snow! Really a neat car. There’s fixes for the plastic V/C. A later 4.0L would be a great swap.

Guy in the next town over has one, harldy drives it but won't give it up. Hope to have one at some point.

I had one and they have a Torqueflite so a 5.7 could be a fantastic swap.

They were a jeep under the car body...

Wow...Talk about a car that was AHEAD of it's time.
Look around today....The term "crossover" describes exactly what the AMC Eagle wagon was 35 years ago. The radically successful Subaru wagons, the CRVs, the Kias, Hyundais....heck, every automaker makes one of those nowadays.
If AMC could have just hung on a little longer!

If only Chrysler had built them a little longer, too. They had already bought AMC but kept the Eagle in production for the 1988 model year. They got axed to make room for more Jeep Wrangler production.

My friends' parents always had new/late model Cherokees and such back then, but when the
Eagle came out, they traded for one (the wagon model of it).
I always remember being very impressed with that car - when I had expected a lot less out of
it, expecting more of the old AMC Hornet sort of vibe.
We borrowed that car a lot in winter, took it all over in the snow. Very comfortable and capable.

I would get one if it were in decent shape & not messed with. Neat cars with A LOT of potential.

Having been born and raised in Kenosha, I’m used to seeing them and all the other AMC’s all the time. Just driving around town I’ll see the occasional Eagle, Concord, Ambassador, etc. My first car was a ‘68 Javelin with the oddball 343 and a four speed (wish I could find pics and post them).

Had a small compressor in the engine compartment for airing up tires

That door looks Gremlin-y.

Wonder how much Gremlin/Hornet DNA might be in there.

Hornet's were not bad cars either.

I worked at AMC and then Chrysler and had Eagles they are great vehicles. Not many AWD cars back then so they are nice to have. Body parts same as Gremlins.

They were great and to me, ahead of their time in some ways.

Motor Trend just showed a Junk Yard Gold episode yesterday on AMCs. He went through all the history on the Eagles.
