I don't hate snow
I don't care for the shoveling or it ruining ****,
decks, houses, carports, cars/trucks etc.
when I was younger I did a lot more activities in the snow
I lived in Alaska when I was younger too..
I loved it up there...
But it snows way more here than there, it comes down sometimes
in feet at a time, it just doesn't stay around as long, if I wanted to live in it
always I could move 20 miles upcountry & be in all the winter, 10+ft or more
I love to ski, how can you hate snow ? if you love skiing ?
Like hunting when or after it snows is pretty damn cool,
easy tracking etc.
It's just cold when you sit around or wait, especially if it's coming down hard
I do love riding quads or sleds in the snow too
I live where it snows here (up country 10+ miles it's far worse)
live here mostly to be away from the inner-shitty douches/BS/crime
& I do like being closer to nature, the mountains, lakes, streams, wildlife
4x4-ing, boating, fishing & even hunting etc.
all the snow hampers a lot of that activity, where you can & can't go easily...
PITA for the domestic animals too,
having to dry off the dogs every hr on the hr, PITA
Clearing walkways & driveways or the decks, sometimes roofs/gutters
when we get dumped tons of snow regularly, sometimes several ft at a time
taking time away from doing other things
I actually enjoy doing
albeit;
mostly do it for my elderly dad so he doesn't fall
& a couple other older families or relative upcountry
for the same reasons, for their safety or peace of mind
more than for me
isn't my form/idea of fun
it's forced work, takes my time away
