Carbs are fit. Looks like it'll take 1/4" carb spacers above the manifold adapter plates to make all the linkage clear. That puts the carbs air filter base 1/4" above the level of the hood. I'll have to get creative. Have 120 degree fittings coming for the fuel lines at the carbs. New braided throttle cable will make the 90 degree turn to the carbs. Have to fab up a bracket. The brackets that hold the cross carb pivot bar place the heims to low. The rear heim and carb pivot arm hit the intake. I'll mill the pivot arms to raise the heim location. Of course the carb linkage hits the intake and the blow off plate springs. Cut and grind the linkage on my new high dollar carbs. The springs and studs on the blow off valves get the axe. Nylon screws with the the heads drilled and thinned take their place. It's only a carb swap, right?

looks nice (nicer IMO than Edelbrock/Webers) thou :poke:

it's never a bolt-on/swap parts out it seems

good luck

We'll see how it picks up. It's got plenty of cam that is real easy on parts. 285/[email protected]", .800", 112 lca . As far as mph. Was it carb limited with 2 750 Eddys? For sure it's been an under achiever in the first 330. Stat tuned in April. Time slip will tell.

Looks great Doug. I guess the two step forward / one step back thing isn’t just me, and apparently applies to all projects. . I’m sure it’ll be better than ever once sorted out.

Have most all of the NSS organizations accepted Holley type carbs on Mopars now? What series / organization do you consider your home?

Being that Quick Fuel is the N/SS class sponsor in NMCA. 4150 style 1 3/4" bore (no Dominators) are legal across the board. Most N/SS organizations follow NMCA rules. Victory N/SS does not allow 4150 style on Mopar wedge motors or single 4 barrrlel. All the stuff I run allows them.

What made you go with Lightning Racing Carbs?
Are these 1050cfm 4150s?
Wonder how these would work with a 4 speed?
Beautiful setup Doug! Good luck this year

When I looked into carbs there are Quick Fuel, Pro Sytems, Proform, Holley, APD, Thumper, BRE, CFM and more. Some are expensive. Some are very expensive. As I researched, Mark seemed to have a lot of knowledge he was willing to share. Nobody I saw had anything bad to say about him. We talked about various booster designs and what would be best for me leaving off the foot brake. They dry flow over 1100. His price wasn't a whole lot more than buying Quick Fuels off the shelf. They were built for my combination. Jet kits were included. To me it seemed like the right choice.

Looks real nice. What was his opinion on the annulars in a 4150? The problem i had running 2 carbs with the factory throttle cable was getting full throttle. I have an A body and i had to bend the throttle rod that the pedal is mounted too. I used the same linkage as you.

A lokar throttle pedal raised off the floor cured that issue. I didn't have full throttle, bent the pedal to get WOT and went to the track. It was one & done as the stock pedal broke on the return road on the first pass:BangHead::mob::cursin::soapbox:

To get full throttle either extend the pedal or lower the cable attachment at the carb. Mark said theses particular boosters flow more than any other anular he tested. He said they even outflow most down leg boosters. The signal us good enough that the venturi diameter is opened up and to 1.58" with 1.75" throttle blades. I also tried bending the pedal. It broke at weld to the shaft. Of course during Monster Mopar eliminations.

Since we are talking about dual 4's. Let's see everyone's throttle pedal to dual sideways carbs linkages, rods or cable set ups. I was able to get mine to work with a production Hemi cable and I have full throttle. Just not sure how long the cable will last. Mine is pretty stiff with the return springs on mine. Not noticeable by my foot though while driving but it is noticeably stiff if you try rev it manually out the car from the carbs.

Ok, my carbs are by Thumpercarbs, he does not like annulars in 4150's. Everyone has there own style. Your pedal rods must be different from my A body, Its a solid heavy rod. I had to use a floor jack handle to bend it. Its not gonna break any time soon. Good to know lokar makes one thou.
