Re-Man OEM style Alternators PROBLEMATIC?

Where to find a TRUE MOPAR Alternator though?!
Your local dealer. But...you'll need to check if any of the electrical items are still available. Last time I worked at a dealer was 2004.

And there was at least a couple of dozens more at the shop when I got mine. But maybe 5 or 6 years ago

Guess I am lucky in that we have an alternator/starter shop in a nearby town that takes care of my old stuff. He replaces the factory 38 amp innards with 60 amp. Paints everything up nice. About $90 out the door.

Nice, I still have a guy just down the road that kept his old mans shop going after he passed away. Been using him for 35 years now..

Turns out, just removing all of the metal washers, and using just the plastic ones, turned into a +14V battery CHARGING drive!! The goof that sold me the Alternator should HAVE known not to ship it out like it was, but?
All good in the A12 hood!
Startup- little nervous

Kansas City doesn’t have any private rebuilders that can go through your original alternator?

No sir.. There was a speed shop here in Spindependence, round 30/35 yrs ago. I hung out there in my insane teen years, one side did only electrical, starters charging etc. Used to take many an E body or my 68 R/T Charger..
Then I learned how to (when a turn signal switch failed) buy the ol toggle switches, one for tail lights, one for "BOO Switch", etc. So many jumper wires...Jesus, now at 51 I can R&R any dash harness in about an hour. All those cars & years, Id never had an alternator like this one. Too wrapped up in tuning Holley 2300's..LoL
Its all good now. Thanks to all who gave me the help!
I have BOXES of assorted plastic & rubber washers now!
