Hey everyone, I’m a new member from California with a 1990 D150 I’m working on at the moment. Currently changing out freeze plugs and lines but I’m wondering once I have it up and running again what would be the best way to go about making some more power on a budget? I’m only 18 not making much money at the moment but I’m looking to build it for the street and am also looking for opinions/sources for parts, i have the 318 small block bone stock. Also wondering what cam I would be able to run on the stock motor for more low end torque and better sound.

Welcome from PA! I've had lots of those trucks over the years and headers and dual exhaust would make a dramatic difference! I would start there.RUFFCUT Good luck

Welcome from Alabama, great to have more young people. That truck will be great to hone your skills.

Welcome! I'd check the smog laws there before I'd do anything and piss away your hard earned money for something you can't do/use!!! They failed me just because I didn't have the factory stock air cleaner on it on a 94. I wish you luck in that God forsaken state!!!

Appreciate it man, currently looking at some hooker performance headers right now and I’m thinking of doing a true dual exhaust a little down the road

Hahaha yeah they like to mess with you for everything over here, however if it does become a problem (emissions/street legal wise) I will be registering my truck in Texas and driving it here to get around some things.
