Has or is anyone looking at Tremec's new TKX 5 speed for their Mopar?? Its supposed to bolt in with NO floor cutting?? I have seen some real world examples in Chevys and Fords, but curious about any Mopar installs or plans to use one??

At around 23:00-26:00 in this video he talks about Mopar B body and says some cutting will be required:

not sure they have even been released yet(mopars use the ford version). before I bought the t56 magnum i have now I was looking into the tkx in December and just about every supplier said they would be out around now so you may not get a lot of feedback

Last I checked the ford TKX had been pushed out again, til the end of march. so a very good point... I had just wondered if any Mopar cars people had looked at the TKX..

Are people still on a list from Passon for there 5 speed?????

It might depend on the kit. The old Kessler kits would have the trans tail hanging about 2" lower than stock for clearance.
I wanted / need the trans output at the stock height. Mostly because the tilt at the engine was making the headers hit the steering link.
Ended up cutting out the T-Bar part that was inside the tunnel, then bracing it back up with 3/8" steel.

You stole that one... LOTS more to installing a 6 speed, but the people who I know that have them really like them

A buddy is thinking about putting a TKX into his 70 RR (actually I would be putting it in). He talked to Silver Sport and they say NO CUTTING for a B (or E) body. I have read the instructions (somewhat) and thats what they say so long as you are using all of their stuff (cross member).

I wouldn't trust its 100% correct. Assume you are going to do surgery and be happy if you don't.

Based on the video here, I wonder if the cutting is to allow for the new shifter hole??
I would call American Powertrain or Modern Driveline ( both Tremec dealers) and see what they say???

I have a Passon A-855 5 speed. The shifter is different (comes with the transmission), but you reuse your drive shaft, cross member, bellhousing, etc. A true bolt in with no body mods and the shifter in the factory location. Mine works great so far although I only have about 500 miles on it.

I was asking if people were still on the waiting list for one.. It has to be 8 years or so??? I haven't followed the "Passon" saga for awhile so maybe everyone is getting there transmission?? Last I saw hundreds were still waiting and it looked to me like some would NEVER get one?????

I was one of those on the waiting list - took 5 years before I got one.
Yes, there have been lots of production issues. Jamie Passon wanted an all American built unit, and has had lots of issues with foundries and the quality of parts. I don't know where they stand with those, but the idea, and the transmission when built well, is still a great idea. I love mine.

Seems to be problem with alot of "Made in America" companies.... There not americans working there.......

Any new info on whether or not the TKX requires trans tunnel modifications to go into a b-body?

I’m a brand-new member, so apologies in advance if my post format is off or I’m in the wrong place. :)

Not a whole lot of info, but in the video posted above, he says b-bodies will need cutting in the trans tunnel.
