Were the brackets for the buddy seat painted? After installation the brackets are mostly unseen, but not completely invisible.

Yes I believe they were.

They were installed prior to paint, so they get a dusting like the rest of the unfinished interior.

I am figuring that with the black interior the most logical thing to do is paint them black. That should make them almost impossible to see.

That's what I did with mine. I thought they would look goofy painted body color.

I've removed a few from cars still with factory floor paint.

Body/interior color. I had one white set and one green set.

Can you post a picture of the buddy seat brackets? I am restoring a 67 Charger 4 speed with a buddy seat. When I bought the car, the guy had removed the buddy seat years prior and the brackets are gone. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Here are some pics of brackets I just welded in my 69 RR as well as attached to a spare seat I have. I believe these are the same as your Charger.

Thank you for the pictures. Those are unique brackets. My buddy seat frame wraps all around the bottom and has 4 factory drilled holes that would appear to be bolted to a bracket over the tunnel. I will take a picture of it and post later this morning.

This is my buddy seat. You can see the frame around the bottom of mine has the holes all around. I see one bolt opening on each side toward the rear. See attached photos. It looks like your brackets have the fasteners attached to the side of your buddy seat. Any comments are welcome. Thank you.

Yours is the same as the one I pictured, the holes on the bottom are for the hog rings to go through, mine has them as well. You need the same mounts as I showed....
