Hello,

I just picked up a 1968 J Code Road Runner that was hit pretty hard in the front passenger side and was used as a parts car until someone realized what they had. Other than the front end damage and missing pieces the car is extremely solid with very little rust. Unfortunately the frame was tweaked during the collision. I was thinking of either replacing the frame rail, shock tower, inner fender and radiator support from a donor B Body in one piece or try and straighten the frame and replace the shock tower, inner fender and radiator support in one piece from a donor car. If possible I would also like to try and preserve the matching Order Number from my original upper radiator support as well.

I noticed a thread on a similar topic to this one that had some really good information so I thought I would join. I would love to get thoughts from folks who have done this type of work before.

Welcome! The good news is you're in possession of a valuable car. The better news is you have some options for fixing the car and I'm sure you'll get lots of good input here. Best wishes with the repairs!

By request I uploaded a picture of the "good" side of the Road Runner and my 67 Barracuda that I have had since I was a teenager. Unfortunately the Road Runner was a parts car for a while and the drivers side quarter was roughly cut off. I am not quite ready to share that yet. lol.

Welcome from Missouri!!

Welcome from Illinois. The State where the Governors make the licence plates!
Thanks for saving a real "J" Car!

Welcome from Indiana. Mighty ambitious project that you have. Some pictures of the wagon in the background would be appreciated also. Good luck.

Welcome from Alabama, ambitious project, but the dividends are on the other end.

Welcome from southern Illinois ! I like the beeper! It will need some work and a good body / frame guy with patience but I think a lot of it could be saved. Without putting my paws on it though I’m kinda guessing.. pics show a hard hit but you need to measure it on level ground or stands with a tram gauge and find out how far it moved and which way . I’m a rookie on heavy hits but it needs to be level and measured. Good Luck you’ve come to the right place.
