I'm in the process of installing the reproduction OER wheel opening trim on the 74 Rallye. I've never had the wheel opening moldings installed as long as I've owned the car ( since 1987). It looks strange to me. The OER trim is about 1/16" wider on the edge the you see. I've attached some photos for comparison. The molding comes with the top two holes pre-drilled. I had to elongated these holes to get the piece to go up against the fender like the originals. You have to drill the rest of the trim holes yourself. The trim is okay for a reproduction piece but not as nice as the originals on the fit.

Very common with aftermarket pieces. It's why now most restore originals. 71-2 Plymouth they actually drilled all the holes and they are in the wrong spots. Don't know it that has been corrected yet..

Terry your Charger looks pretty good there!

Yes the repro WW trims are usually off by some degree. That charger wheel opening looks pretty basic to fit trim to it so maybe they aren’t as far off as some others.

The only problem I really see on those moldings is you can't mix up originals with repros if meeding just one and of course the price being not completely correct. If they were a bit cheaper and replacing the full set I think would be at least acceptable

Who makes repros of the wheel well opening mpouldings for 74 Charger. Maybe more than one producer. Some years back I could not find any. The car needs all four. Thanks

The ones on pic are available at Classic Industries ( or also straight at OER website ). These are available since some years now, but can't tell if from same manufacturer since ever.

Sorry to say Repro's are never the same. It sure make the car look good thou.
