Old vs new crash

Think Seat belts where a big contributor to that fact. Also soft dashes.
And energy absorbing crumple zones, airbags, and a passenger compartment designed to not collapse on its occupants. Again, it might be poor examples used in the video, but they are trying to show that modern cars are safer, that's all.

I agree with you on the safety factor's of engineering of today's car. But no matter how well we build them it dose depend on the crash. Speed and how the car is hit. Have seen people walk away form wreck's and wondered how in the heck did they not get killed.

Modern cars have a totally different interior design. Try to drive one with your arm out the window. You can’t because the passenger compartment sits so low in the car. Your arm will fall asleep from the lack of blood. Look around, all you see are people’s heads from the side view of newer cars, they look like bobble heads driving around. Combine all that crap with engineered crumple zones, air bags/ curtains, and you have a safer passenger compartment. Thanks to Ralph Nader and your government.

I like the way “old” cars feel when you sit in them, and as I get older I appreciate that I don’t have to do the limbo to get in the driver’s seat!!!

Banned from demo derbies for being too indestructible
I saw one at an outlaw demo 27 years ago and he must of been doing forty when he hit the last car n it dented the imperial but totally demolished the whole front end of the mid 70s impala
