I was at a cruise in a few weeks back and a guy asked me a rather odd question.
He asked if I had any idea what my car sold for new.
So, Im asking anyone whom may have access to that info.
Car is
1966 Satellite, 2 door hardtop
hemi and console auto
Black with red bucket seat interior with console,,,,,
( which I am fairly confident is standard for the model.)
Console mounted tach
Manual steering and brakes.
manual mirror drivers side only.
clear glass.
No radio
Pretty much a stripped down car except the power train
Any takers care to make a fairly accurate guess ?

2DrHt maybe a few hundred less than a convertible.

Here's mine. Between mine and Fran's you can probably come up with a pretty close estimate.

Thanks gents.

Padded sun visors were extra. What was standard , flat vinyl covered boards ?

And emergency flashers were optional ????? Mine has them

I see retractable seat belts. Only the front on mine retract ?

my car is not undercoated

based on what I think is right
I come up with $3886.20
WOW,,

If your car was sold before January 1, 1966 it probably was optional. After January 1 it was mandatory. Dealer installed mine what a mess.

Not sure sales date or even state for certain yet.

But, SBD is April 5th I think

I don't know what the standard sun visors would be, but you're probably correct.

I think if you have retractable front seat belts, it probably also has retractable rears, too? I don't have a great back seat picture of mine, but if you look at the driver's side you can see the retractable part. The mess on the passenger side is the middle seat belt laying there. Do your back seat belts look like that?

I just had my backseat out this past week. No re-tractors on the rears

My 66 back seat belts have retractors which I thought was odd and possibly added by an owner - but they were an option - huh? Interesting.

The deal was that the Hemi added another 1/3 to the price though and then the insurance payments could have been more than the car payments. When my 19 year old brother bought his new 67 Satellite he bought the gutsy 318, even a step up to a 383 2 barrel would have doubled his insurance cost at that time. Hard to believe but true. Insurance company also asked if it had a floor shift (even automatic) because that jumped insurance up as well.
