The Carlisle 2021 thread

RC and I should have a best out of 3 match race with our bronze cars
If you guys do that and lead the way for our FBBO brothers & sisters,I can get us a group rate. My friend Mike owns the track and likes my steak:lol:

I'm going (3rd time) now... Got room in Shippensburg, PA.

Me and Jenny Craig will be there at our spot this year, been talking about it already. Carlisle allowed us to hold on to the spot and put the payment towards this year which was awesome. Not sure who else will show up but probably Beater McHack will make the trip from Queens with his brother from another mother. And perhaps the Pharoh of the parking garage will grace us with his presence this year if we can pry him away from his Boxster for a weekend. Never know about the other Brooklyn early B boy, seems like he just shows up randomly for an hour and leaves. Would be cool to see his new trinket if the planets align, would probably get a lot of attention and accolades.

Somehow we freed ourselves from the other arrangement where we had to pay the mean lady for our spot. It was like walking on eggshells trying not to do anything to upset her which I somehow managed to do anyway probably just by breathing or some such thing. Screw that!

I'm going to try to get my Road Runner into the survivor tent this year. Haven't heard back from them yet.
Will you have hats and t-shirts available this year or just the autographed 8x10 glossies?

I am in But probably married to my vendor spot again, :( come buy we have shade! o-189

I'll be there, although I have decided not to bring my 70 Road Runner so I can devote more time for the FBBO tent and do some lunches.

If you bring your car, please register it as FBBO. We have been close with the number of cars, but have never quite made the count to have Carlisle pay the bill for us!

I'll be there. Live less than an hour away. Probably bringing mom with me - she visits from FL for her birthday (7/11), and now that I have a Charger like she had back in the day, she may very well come with me. It'll be my first time in the B-body area, till now I've been in the FWD/Shelby area (and I may still have the turbo minivan this year, just to haul "stuff" to and from if needed).

At the moment, my schedule is open for the weekend. If things open up, I may end up having a gig that weekend (I own a concert sound company)...but at the moment, I don't know what to expect. Nor do I know if mom (she'll be 84 this year) will want to do a weekend, or just a day. But...I'll be there for at least part of it, with my new-to-me Charger survivor! I look forward to meeting some of the folks from here on the site!

Guys, we are basically five months away from the weekend and time will be passing very quickly. I know that we have been swamped, which is a very good thing and hopefully things will continue in a similar fashion. With that said, I will strive to assist in helping out with the event as I have in the past, as time allows. I know that @hsorman and @VANDAN has been very giving in helping to coordinate the weekend activities.

As in the years past, I will take care of getting tables and chairs set up for the tent. Please register under the FBBO group when you submit your registration so that the group can gain footing in getting the cost of the tent covered by Carlisle Events. If that cost gets covered, then that gives us the chance to put money towards refreshments or other activities.

I will private message @tallhair to see if he will move this link over to the Events section and "Sticky" it to the top of the page. Hopefully with Covid getting behind us by July, we can have a SUPER gathering at the event. I know that a lots of you guys were unable to make it last year and I have already heard of several couples who will be making the trip for the first time this year.

For those that will be attending and who want me to add your name to the "Registry", send me a private message and I will start creating the list. As in years past, you can provide me with your swap meet space, show car description, spectator, etc. For example:

69bfan Swap Meet, Rows H and I, Spots 138 - 143

Lets make up for last year and make this a very memorable event.

Take care,
Richard

Another year I won't be able to attend.
I will have 7 vendor spaces for lease row P-214 to P-220 $90.00 each.
Lots of shade in this area.

Ed

I'm planning on it. I'll be at my usual spot signing autographs.
I was thinking of just handing out free beer (Genesee of course).
Because it's always hot there and I don't do autographs, now I'm thinking of maybe including a free custom designed Koozie as well.
I've spend some time working on a design, here is a sample of the one I'm currently toying with:

No graphics want to keep it family friendly.

A buddy of mine makes stuff like that if you want to send me the art. I can get a price for him to run a batch for you :)

Done Richard

Like last year, I will cover the FBBO tent.

If you register a car, please register it as FBBO. There is no cost for you to do this, but if you do, it MAY save $180 because with enough club members Carlisle picks up the cost of the tent for free. We have been close the last couple of years, but just never managed to get the full requirement of club members.

This year I will not show my 70 Road Runner and will instead concentrate more on the FBBO tent. I will provide lunch for at least one of the days - but more on this later.

For now, let's start making plans to be there!

(Oh, and I will have some different beers if you don't like that Genesee stuff Don is bringing!!!

Cheers,

Hawk

@tallhair, thanks for moving this over to the Events section.

Guys and girls, since we now have an "Official Carlisle" sticky. Lets keep the valid information rolling so that it is beneficial to everyone and make the Carlisle experience and even greater memory for all of us. The more involvement that we have, I feel that it will only add to the experience.

I will start to compile the registry from the information that has been posted up to this point.

Thanks everyone,
Richard

I'm leaving the Roadrunner in the Garage and bringing my 2018 Ram to haul stuff.
Can I still Register with the FBBO group ?

That's a good question. I will call and see if my vendor spaces can be counted as being for FBBO, but I don't know if anything other than a car at the showfield will count.
