Hello, everyone! Back in January I rescued a 70 Belvedere wagon from a falling down garage in downtown Chicago where it’s been parked since 1977. Slant six with 52k original miles. It’s pretty rough but the plan is for a father/son project with my 12 & 10 year old boys to get it safe and reliable for when they go to high school. There will be lots of learning for us all as we go. I’m praying it’s not too far gone. I haven’t gotten under it yet to check the frame. Questions will be coming!

You might want to have a look underneath before everyone gets too excited.

Welcome to the site. Good luck on your wagon project.

I saw a '67 Satellite convertible sitting in a field with the back bumper hanging off like that once. It wasn't a pretty site.

Dash pad actually look nice.

Hope it's OK underneath.

I hope that it works out for you, it would be a good car to save. If the underside is too far gone maybe you and the boys could part it out to help finance another purchase. They could get their hands dirty, learn about tools and disassembly and make a few bucks.

If the fenders and grill are clean, you might get your money back right there.

Welcome from Missouri!!

Welcome aboard from NJ. I hope it all works out!

Welcome from southern Illinois, close to Missouri! Good luck I hope it’s nice and solid just so it can be saved. You don’t see many wagons left!

Hope it all works out, even if it's too rough ( hope not) to rebuild part out any good pieces that may be left to fund the next one and the boys will get experience from doing that also. Wagon parts are hard to come by and very much in demand.

I don't know your skill level but this can be a great family project, get it up in the air and make sure the frame rails aren't to far gone. They can be replaced but it is skilled work. Good luck on your project and enjoy the time with your sons.
