Has anyone tried the dynomax turbo mufflers? How are they? Would you say they are better than flowmasters? The reason I ask is I am looking at an exhaust system that comes with them.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I'm not sure if they are the Turbo mufflers of old and what series FlowMasters you are comparing them to, but they just give a low growl with minimal resonance.
Throaty, not overbearing by any means...40s will have a lot of drone at low mid rpms.I was thinking flowmasters 40's. Low growl huh? Not sure I want that.
Super turbos are very quiet....my go to are the dynomax ultraflow welded, great sound and less drone then the Flowmasters

I'm sure you can find a YouTube video of a Turbo muffler in action.
Here's a quick startup video of my car so you can hear the sound of the Dynomax turbo mufflers. You'll have to excuse my neighbor, he was pretty excited about the whole thing.
The headers are Hooker but from the headers back is TTi. These are the mufflers that come with their full 2 1/2" system.
It wasn't too bad though things like replacing an exhaust system tend to be a little easier for me since I have a lift.
Anyway, the main hassle in my case was mating the headers to the exhaust. If you use any brand other than TTi for headers, you will have to make adapters to connect the collectors to the exhaust system. TTi does provide the extra tubing in the kit to do the job, it's a matter of measuring/cutting/welding the pieces and getting them oriented right which can be a little tricky. The rest of the system fit perfect, nice and level.

There is a reason TTI uses Dynomax..............Super turbos are very quiet....my go to are the dynomax ultraflow welded, great sound and less drone then the Flowmasters
I agree. My 1st TTI exhaust was on my 70 340 4spd dart and I left the super turbo mufflers on that came with the kit. After 2 drives they were off ! May sound crazy but the car lost its snap, very very sluggish. Swapped out the turbos for the ultraflow welded mufflers and the car woke back up to what I was used to and the exhaust tone I wanted was there. Now I order the TTI kits with no mufflers and order the ultraflows separately through summit......Hopefully my kit arrives in the next few weeks for my 68 coronet! There is a reason TTI uses Dynomax..............
They out perform the flushmasters as well!!
TTI will substitute Ulta Flows for the Super Turbos in the kit if you didn't know. Perfect fit with no mods needed. There is a small upcharge, but not much.I agree.
