FOR SALE 340 Direct Connection engine block

Fresh, in the original box, Direct Connection P3690961 340 block. Never even finished machined. Was one of four sent to Roy Johnson back in the late 70's. Includes the windage tray mounting kit and the DC locator pin kit. $2500 or best offer. Must pick up in Maryville, TN.

Can you tell me the particulars of the block?
Bore size, current and maximum allowable?
Tappet angle?
Siamese cylinders or not?

not a siamese block, none of the bores are finished including the lifter bores. Raw nominal bore size is 4.038 as close as my crude dial bore guage can read with the block down in the box. Roy has "seasoned" the thing by having it left to climate changes, then reboxed it for use at a later time. I believe he used all three of the others up over the years and once he got into the Pro Stock deal just forgot about the thing completely. We purchased three blocks from him, an X block (318 based race unit), and a finished out 340 block like this one, which we are using. If I could get someone to help me lift the thing out of the box (which is original), I might get a better read on the bore size. Lifter angle is standard, non T/A.

As for max bore, depending upon sonic test, would be 4.125, which is the bore of the current block we have chosen to build. Sorry for that deletion. Thing is very obviously heavier than the stock 360 casting and the 318 castings I have laying around.
