Edelbrock Hydraulic Flat Tappet, 10-1 CR, Roller tip rocker arms, DART JR ported iron heads, Hooker Super Comp headers, Edelbrock Victor JR intake, Holley 750 carb, MSD Dist. Meziere electric water pump, electric fans. C4 Trans with Brake, Cheetah Shifter with Air Shifter,
Moser Ford 9", 4.89-1 with spool. Cal Tracs and Mono Leaf springs. Holley Pump. Full Cage, twin JAZZ seats.
 
my boss 302 .03 over made 503 hp at 8500 rpm on the street , it was a fun car , but just couldn't keep it together , lol .
 
One of my racing buddies runs a 347 powered Maverick. Pretty cool and quick car....

There was a couple 302 powered Maverick's back in H.S. my buddy had one of them. They were pretty quick cars. IMO I think the 302 is one of the best SB.

I had a '73 Mercury Comet GT with a 302 and a four speed as a daily driver not long after buying my Cuda. It was a fun ride, gold with wide black stripes similar to the Grabber, but needed brake drums something fierce; at $166 apiece, and room for only one car on the U-Haul trailer I rented, it ended up getting sold before I moved from California. You can see a little bit of its roof in this old pic. I wonder where it is now?

I'd take a Maverick with a 347. Or a Pinto for that matter. Looks like fun.

I like it Mike, Mavericks are one of my favorite Fords. We need to see more old Fords at the track!
