Needing some advice. I’m putting the convertible on a rotisserie. I know the interior should be secured/welded for support so it doesn’t twist. Does anyone have pics or advice on what configuration you used when you did it? Also, angle iron or square tubing? Any advice would be appreciated!

I’m doing a 64 Polara convertible. I welded 1 inch square stock pieces on the inside of where the doors are, running front to back. I then tied another piece into these 2 pieces going from one side of the car to the other, just in front of the door opening where the rear of the door would be.

Lastly, I welded two more pieces to that cross piece that run up to the top of the windshield frame. I don’t have pics on the device I’m using right now to post this, but I can post pics tomorrow if you think this the way you want to go....

Good luck with your project!

And if you’re thinking of adding frame supports underneath to tie things together, one thing I’ve seen posted here more than once re doing that on a vert is to have the car sitting on its suspension/ tires with the doors on it when the supports are tack welded in.

Then the car can go back on a rotisserie so the frame supports can be fully welded in.

Absolutely on the pics and thank you!

Been thinking of making a body jig/cart for the '69 Convertible before attempting to replace the floors, trunk, and rear quarters.

I have a complete set up for bracing a '68 convertible on a rotissorie. PM me if interested.

Here's a couple of pics on how I braced up my 64 vert with 1 inch square stock....
