Cold Case radiator… Am I missing something?

I know your pain, you could return it. If I went down this road again I would buy somewhere else.

I am in a similiar situation with my CC.... I am mounting dual ford contour fans and it is tight! about 1/4" clearance, so i need to figure something out as well. How much clearance do we need between the water pump and fan? Unfortunate, because I do like the CC radiator and think it is an excellent value for the money

No my gap has to be more like 1/2 to 3/4 because I installed plates to go from 22 to 26.

Regardless of how good it might be I would definitely return it. It’s a big *** box so I’m not sure if they would pay shipping. At first I was a little hesitant to say anything because I didn’t want to show my frustration without speaking to someone at cold case first. Obviously there’s enough of us on here who have had problems that they should be aware of this and getting these things fixed. Regardless of how cold they are and how well they may work I would still return it simply because of the poor fitting quality and the fact they haven’t fixed these issues yet. These things are NOT cheap. One of my biggest frustrations in today’s world is the quality of products sold.

This is why we ask each other questions. The entire way along my build I have tried to ask questions before purchasing things. For some reason, maybe just my luck, I always find out after the fact that I should’ve gotten something different. For anyone looking up radiators or to buy a radiator , READ THIS THREAD!!!

Chris at CC really help me on my problems, he was willing to send me a different one. I would call them and tell them your not happy. I bet they will pay for the return.

If this has obviously been a problem yeah, why not fix the damn jig
the griffin radiator i bought same thing, it sucks elongating mounting holes in a brand new radiator, but that's par for the course with 90% of all mopar aftermarket parts. ended going with the widowmaker flex fan also. no clutch fan clearance

Seriously bummed even more after hearing more and more stories about everyone’s issues with these radiators. It would be one thing to have issues, to have your customers tell you what these are and then fix them. I’m surprised FBBO would allow them to continue as a sponsor or company on here with so many issues.

Well, I’ll see if they will return it and pay shipping back to them. If not I’ll modify the bracket. I’ll just cut it and bend it so that it fits the radiator closer to the support. Then when I go to shows i’ll make sure to point out to everyone how I had to modify a $600 radiator to fit because it didn’t come correct. again, that’s only if they are not willing to pay shipping to return it to them.

i rebuilt my whole car, original parts are the best way to go in most applications, good luck, I feel your pain.

That misaligned mount hole would make me more irritated than the fitment of the electric fan. If it is suppose to fit a certain year car, it should fit without modification. I would send it back.

And I will send it back. Again it was a big *** box so I’m not paying shipping. I’ll wait and see what they will do.

I had one of their radiators. Dimensions stated one thing and when I got it they were different. Got ahold of them and they paid shipping back. The issue is how far off the core support they are mounted. As stated above, should be max 1/4" distance from core to tanks. But they did the right thing and also changed the dimension in their listing.

you need to switch to a dual small fan shroud and also have the radiator brackets removed and reset forward to bring closer to support
I have some thoughts on modifying it. I mean if it’s been this long and they haven’t done anything maybe I can modify it fix the problem and sell the idea to them.
