On the 4th line of my build sheet from a 72 Charger, it lists 3 and 2 digit codes that correspond to engine (805), carb (38), trans (864), axel (042), etc.. while I know what engine/trans it was built with, I would like to know if it originally came with a sure-grip and what the original gear ratio was. The 1st line in the build sheet where this info is also posted is damaged from the seat springs. It would also be nice to confirm a few other items listed with these 3 and 2 digit codes.

In the back of my 1969 Plymouth Road Runner book, it has a page of 3 digit codes listed for these items on the build sheet for the 69 road runners

1969 RR Example:
Engine (897) = 383 4-bbl, manual trans, heater,....
Trans (091) = 727 auto trans, 383 4-bbl engine.
Axel (594) = 3.55 SG, 8 3/4, 11-inch rear and front drums.

Any idea where I can find these codes for a 71-72 broadcast sheet?

042 is 3.23 open diff, from galen goviers white books.

This ^

1971 - 042 = 3.23 open, 8 3/4, 10" rear drum - front disc/LD drum

1972 Will bee different because of new motors/new carbs etc.

The first question I would ask is does the car have the original fender tag?
Yes it does, but doesn’t say anything about gear ratio or if it came with a sure grip. I knew it was originally a 400HP w/steel crank, and a 4-speed. I was also curious if there was a chart for those 3 digit codes like there is for the VIN and Fender Tags.

Thanks! It does have the 10” rear drums and front disk brakes and sway bar.

The one thing that puzzles me is it came with the 400HP and a 4 speed, but only had the one wheel wonder?? Weird for being a Charger SE I would think. Even my 75 318 4-speed Dart came with a sure-grip in the 8 1/4 rear end.

My bad. I was thinking of my 68 fender tag, which tells ratio and if it is a sure grip.

The codes for the axle are in the "gate sequence" numbers at the top.

That's a Lynch Road thing.

A little harder to decipher but there are people who know them.
