Odd thing is some girl has a bunch of sponsors and was making a really big deal out of her twin turbo C8 "setting the world record" for C8 Vettes in the quarter mile. 9.8...
EDIT: They ran a best of 9.4X
Whoopdie Do....
My friend's 2005 Vette he bought for $22k I believe, he put a LS2 in it and about $20k in performance and strengthening parts in it including the centrifugal supercharger, and ran 9.1X to 9.5X at 145-149 over and over again.
Until it dropped a valve
He pissed away too much on the fabricated intake manifold and intercooler plumbing...way too much.
I'm sure someone with better than average junk yard/used LS connections and a good parts/fab hookup could go as fast or faster than my friend for less money.
I'm very impressed, AND THEY HANDLE VERY WELL, but that's not "my thing".
I like naturally aspirated, old school, choppy cam big motor POWER and the sound is SO MUCH better than the "new stuff".

The modern corvette = Tupperware in new form..

I got a lot of seat time in several C7's and I have owned a C3 (78 454 AT) and a C4 (96 LT4 6spd) but I am not a vette fan per se, that said I have to admit that the C6 and C7 were pretty amazing technology overall. The ZO6 C6's could/can really take a beating. Dollar for dollar I have to admit that they are pretty good cars overall.

The C8 is a pretty neat car and I like it because it pisses off the Euro dudes to no end. Eventually you will find C8's with 100K on the odometer and it is highly unlikely you would ever find a lambo or Ferrari with anything near that and yes I think the C8 is of a similar class of car.

All this said, I would much rather have my 01 Viper ACR GTS than any vette of any year.

There's a C8? As far as I know, the traditional American corvette ended with the C7. That mid engine thing that GM is trotting around should be called the Fiero SS...

A side benefit of having my USCT subframe connectors welded in is no "door drop" when I jack up a corner or end of my car.

That's a pretty impressive feat, I'll wait for a full review on that engine. Even without a supercharger, it's making more power per cubic inch than the Hellcat.

Neat cars actually. Too bad Chrysler is gone and can't respond. I'll keep my boring 08 Viper though.

Fugly.
Vettes are made for road racing, sticks are for road racing.
I've had a few or so, few decades ago, but I am no Vette guy.
Doubt I can get in or out of one now!
