Posted this by mistake in the engine section...sorry!
...well, went to start the Charger for a spin around the block after work tonight because it's 70 degrees and...well...I wanted to drive it. Cranked over, fired up, sputtered for about 30 seconds...dead. Tried cranking for a while - it's a FL car all its life that's been in Maryland since December so I'm sure it's unhappy - but no go. Pulled the air cleaner...all the valleys in the intake are full of raw fuel, I can see it dripping down the carb body, and there's a puddle under the car. Line is dry, inline filter (about 4" from the carb inlet) is dry.
It's an all-stock, numbers-match survivor with what I presume (I only bought it this past December so I'm still getting acquainted) is an OEM carb on the original 230hp (I think) 318, and it's a factory a/c car. I'm not in the mood to pull it off tonight, I'll do that tomorrow after work and see if there are numbers on it. I can post carb numbers tomorrow, but does anyone have any rebuild kit preferences? Brands to stay away from? Or is a kit is a kit is a kit? I haven't rebuilt an automotive carb in years, I've just been doing motorcycle carbs (I can do a CV40 in my sleep).
Grrr.
Oh well. At least it pissed fuel all over the place BEFORE I got the engine burning-hot. Car-b-que's SUCK.
