There were definitely 4 dr maxwedge cars. Yours will obviously be a clone, but leave the doors be, and throw that max in there!

Congrats on picking one of the best looking b-bodies ever made. I love watching these four door conversions. I'll be following! Especially after seeing that cowl! Yowza!

I had one of the only 4 door max wedge cars. 63 Fury; featured in several magazines back in 1992 and was a feature car at Carlisle in the show building. I purchased through a broker with an ad in Hemmings motor news. Broker (used care salesman) told me the original owner was dead. In the glove box was paper work for the owner. Ishmeal Dew, At that time you called director assistance to get a phone #. She gave me the # and I called. Guess who answered.
Connie his wife she put him on the phone. Barnwell SC. My wife and I were invited to visit. We arrived with hotel reservations, NOT, they insisted we stay with them. Southern hospitably.
He gave me a tour of his race history room, gave me the original shocks, local news paper articles on his wins and several trophy's. There's a lot more to this story. I did a total resto and won 1st place at Atlantic nationals in 1990 or 91.

Where is it today ?
Sold at Hershey to a guy from NY, He brought it back to be judged the following year and I have not seen it since, that was 10 years ago.

Thanks, Of all the cars I've had only one did I ever see again. All the others just vanished.
I always wonder when I read the stories posted. Gives you that Hummm ? feeling.

That’s awesome story! I’m tempted to leave it a 4 door and just do a original as possible build but I really want a 2 door and since I’m doing that might as well tubb it but we will see as i make up my mind. The story on the engine is it came out of 63 Plymouth called the black widow in Arizona but I have no proof.

Everything is shut down here in Austin because of the weather so I might get started tomorrow since there’s not much else I can do

Four (4) door 63 Savoy \six - 904 Daily Drive

and a project 63 Sport Fury Factory Super Stock.

I was thinking about converting the Savoy into a 2 door post car but I have enough to do. I have been collecting parts and I have a few extra 413 engines. If anything I'd put a big block in the Savoy if the \six or 904 where to crap the bed. For now leaving the 4 door alone driving the wheels off it until I have noting better to do. Which will be never.

Nice 63’s! Especially the sport fury !!

I went and picked up a engine stand for some reason I couldn’t find mine. And put put the engine up and got the car on the lift. I’ve found some of the parts and there on there way for the conversion.

I have another question for you guys what size wheel/tire would of came on a max wedge car? My car came with 3 15” wheels and 2 “14 wheels.

If your still thinking about mini tubbing it check out U.S. car tool for their frame connectors, torque boxes, mini tub kits ,e.c.t. Not sure why they filled your vents but the cowl rotting out is very common to these cars ( driver's side mostly) along with front fender rot behind the brace. Sherman does make a upper and lower cowl patch panel but it's basically junk, needs lots of work to the panel to get it to work. The lower panel which is where your wiper pivot mounts to is very hard find, i couldn't find one so i made my own,p.i.t.a. to get the angles perfect but doable. The more door versions of these cars are becoming more and more "accepted" because their just so damn cool, you gotta love an early B body!

I repaired the lower/inner panel on mine with fiberglass and mat. Turned out good.

I have a 63 Belvedere 4 door Poly 318 with a/c I bought for 500$ in high school around 1980.
I still love the look even with the 4 door.
I did hear these things were banned from the old figure 8 crash derby's because the metal body is so think they wouldn't crumple up like the other makes competing.
