Application is a 72' Satellite. Cash in hand and I can travel to pick it up if not too far away. I'm in Ca High Desert near Victorville. Close to giving up the search and building a Ford 9" but I would prefer to find a Chrysler rear end that's ready to rebuild. You're my last hope Obie-Wan...I mean "B" Bodies only.

Just pulled a complete rearend out of a 70 Chrysler 300. If that would work for you? $200

Those are very close in width but will need the spring pads to be moved. This is a good option.

I have a B Body drum to drum
Less 3rd Member $250 /Delivered to you!
When I bought it was told 3.91 3rd member
I will check = $350 with 3rd member.
I live in Nevada but go to Colton once a week.

Was hoping for something closer to me but could make the drive for that price. can u read the #'s on the center section?
Is it coil or leaf please and could u measure it from drum to drum please. Appreciate your time and writing me very much. Thank you.

I can tell you. It is leaf spring rear and it's what I put under one of my Road Runners. It's a smidge narrower and will need the perches moved and rewelded to install which was no problem.

I have one or two that will bolt right in out of B bodies 44 1/4 spring perches
$250 less 3rd or 350 complete. Clean and no pits or spun axle bearings.
Let me know as I had a couple folks that may wnat them = It is your posting and
you should have 1st chance on them.

Thank you for giving me first crack at this. I'm in So Cal High desert and work every week. Next 2 weeks are already scheduled and I'd need a weekend to do a round trip. I'm unsure when I can get enough time to drive up to retrieve it. I though u said $200 for a complete rear. Appreciate you taking the time and writing to me but $350 will be out of my price range. I could go as much as $600 but it will cost me at least $300 to come get it. Fuel, Hotel, Food ect. I believe the right one will appear for me when it's my time. I couldn't ask u to hold it anyway. I've had several small strokes, a few heart attacks, and currently congestive heart failure along with a pacemaker, and artery stent. I'm ok at the moment, or as well as can be expected, but my future is not exactly certain. I think I got one more Christmas in me yet. So... I'm weighing all my options and still have some feelers out here locally as well. I'm also considering a new 9" Currie rear through Summit. I still have to weld on some new perches and add oil, but that's all. Plus, as I'm sure u already know, they'll narrow it and provide any gear I want for the same price. I wouldn't mind bringing it in it in 1-1/2" on each side, but a lot of money for the Currie. So, if u can sell it right now please don't hesitate. I would totally understand. They're in high demand right now and I want you to get the most that u can. However, If u still have that complete rear that u first told about on the 26th I can go as much as $250. I know it's worth more but that's where my budget is for everything including driving hotel and food. It'll cost me another $1400 to rebuild it if the center housing and axles are ok. Please let me know if that's something you'll consider. If I was down the street, I'd do the $600 I mentioned. Thank you again for everything. David

You did not read my reply!
You will not spend the $300.00 to drive the 190 miles to my house.
I told you above that the $250 or $350 IS DELIVERED TO YOUR HOUSE!
$1400 to Rebuild it = Come on Man!!!!!!
AND they seldom even need a Rebuild!
No I did not offer it to you for $200. = That was some one else for a C Body.
I am sorry for your health issues = I have mine as well (70's and gone thru 12 Hr. Kidney Cancer Surgery)

When we get done racing this weekend I will advertise it on here.

Hey bro....please dont get angry. Sorry. I'm not asking for anything free. I'm old too and this forum is difficult for me to follow. I thought it was all the same dude replying to me. U happen to be giving measurements that I asked the other guy for and I thought you were him. I think that rear will work I'll go double check mine tomorrow. May I ask where in Nevada your zip is please. 190 miles is about where Vegas is from me. I won't pay before I see it first. Not anymore than you'd ship it and wait for me to check it before I send the money. Sorry bro, I'm sure you're a great guy but I dont know u. Nothing personal. I used to be an Iron worker in Vegas and I can crash at a friends house when I come out to get it. (assuming that's where you're at) And no matter what...I'll rebuild it for sure. With the new motor I just put in, I've broken 2 converters- went through the tranny both times, then bent the drive line and broke a u joint- upgraded to 3-1/4" heavy duty driveline and spicer u joints. Now it broke a brand new 8.25 rear end axle. And Yeah...$ 1,400 to go through the whole thing with new center section - new ring and pinion - new bearing, seals, and yoke. Yes $1400 to do it right. It cost me $1200 to go through the 8.25 rear I'm running right now. Well, I was running. (LOL) The 8.75 is a bit more expensive to go through. If u want to go with someone else...I would certainly understand. But I can make the trip and would appreciate it very much. Let me know what u think. Thank you for writing. David

If one of the previous won’t work for you......I’m in phoenix have a drum to drum sure grip 489 case. Used but ready to run again. It came out of a 69 roadrunner. $850.00.

Thanks for offer...Greatly appreciated. I'm waiting to hear back from another guy right now. He's a little closer and less expensive. If I can let u know a little later on I would be grateful. Thanks, David

I've been off here for awhile. I pulled the complete rearend out of 70 300. It's a 489 case.
It has all the e brake cables and hardware. Drum to Drum.
You will have to move perches but it will be a direct bolt in when you do.
$200 is as cheap as it gets for me.
Located 40 miles north of SF in Northern California.

First, Sorry to hear about your health conditions... Also sorry that you wasted $1200 on a junk rear to begin with. Who ever gave you the advice or thought to invest in that rear is responsible for the waste.. The rear GTX JOHN has would be best since it is a direct bolt in...

That GTX John guy was a bust. Rusted out housing and an old rotten axles. 3rd member was banged up too. Yes I have Cash in hand and I can travel to you. Got a buddy in Phoenix and I can stay the night w/him. May I start a private conversation w/ you so I can give u my cell# ? Thanks, David

This Gentleman is a character and accused me of trying to 'Rip him Off" Any Rear end that is over a year old will have some minor surface rust on them just like the pictures clearly show. I took several more Extra pictures of the rear end out in Daylight today to show it clearly and sent them to him. I offered to take the rear end to him for inspection - With no deposit and if he did not want if fine I would just take it with me. I did not even ask for a penny gas money = I would not take numerous extra pics to show him if I WANTED to hide anything. There are two more Rear end Housings in my ad and I offer to remove the 3rd members from EACH of them and send him several more pictures of those and see if he preferred any of them and he could take his pick for $200.00 delivered. He has a 440 Drag Racer car and I have been a Drag racer for about 60 years. When I build a rear end from a fifty year old core for a Drag racing Car = The first thing I always do is Wire brush and clean everything from top to bottom prior to painting it!

Rotten Axles = Very Superficial Surface rust. Five minutes or less with a wire brush to clean!

3rd member banged up= It has less than a thousand miles on it in my Hot Rod Cover Car - 68 Valiant and the pattern is perfect!

He stated to me the gears were greasy = Hello: They run in several quarts of Gear Oil. If they were Dry they would not last one mile!!

Take the time and see the pictures on my ad for the Rear Ends in the section with the "rust out housing" AND "old rotted out" Axles and see what you think.

Rotten Axles = Very Superficial Surface rust. Five minutes or less with a wire brush to clean! He texted me pics of a rusty housing and axles so rusted the spines were beginning to blur. center section looked like it was dropped on the the ring gear. I politely thanked him for the offer and declined his offer. My phone rang within seconds and he was now saying he had some good rear ends he could show me. But the day before he was saying that this was a good rear. I declined again and mentioned that the case in the pic was a 741 and that the day before he was claiming that it was a 489 case and that those are the best. But now has changed his story and saying the 741's are better for hard launches. and that I should look at the pictures again. All of this between him saying how great he is and that this rear end was from a car featured in "HOT ROD" mag a dozen times or something. It was a rusted pile of junk parts in my opinion. I didn't say that to him - I was still politely declining his offer as he kept pushing me harder to buy his parts. After he realized I wasn't gonna be pushed into the buy not even by an admittedly great racer. A legend I would even say. He became very angry and said something snotty had hung up on me. And now this wild rant about about a greasy 3rd member? I never said that. He's either becoming delusional (which I seriously I doubt - he sounded very clear headed and was very likeable on the phone even though every other sentence was a compliment to himself or his cars) or he's one of the biggest BULL- SH*#% artists I've ever spoke with. John...Please hear this if nothing else....I don't want your parts. Let it go! We are done and that's all! Maybe all that stuff is still usable but not for me. Good by and and good luck man...Don't take it so hard bro. Just not for me.
