I have local guy here in upstate NY near me .....petty blue 68 roadrunner with documentation from dealer original paint car

Well I agree it’s very sad sight I have an idea for you .. if you want to get your foot in the door and it may help you get an idea of the true condition... offer to get them up and off the ground and protect them, trim trees from around them etc.. what ever you can do for free.. maybe if he realizes you’ll take care of them he may give you a chance .. keep a big wad of cash handy during the process .. offer to help him instead of buy them outright.. get to know him . Take some time offer to save them after or during , let him see that he may not be able to conquer the projects and it may be time to move them while the market is pretty high.. idk just spitballing and thinking about what I would be willing to do..
Best of luck!

These stories always irritate the @#&% out of me!! :mad:If you're really interested in "fixing them up someday" (which he never will)... get them off the damn dirt!! Lay a quick slab of concrete down and keep the rust away - if it's not too late already.

With all my moving the last year and a half, I have found that if you add the years you have left and all the things you want to do, math doesn't lie, do what is needed. I've given so many things away knowing I don't have time for all of it. Dying with those cars in the back yard is completely stupid and selfish.

the cars he actually raced in 68
weren't all 999 Petty Blue,
select races they were the LL1 Surf Turquoise
or the QQ1 Electric blue

some were even 2 tone white & corporate blue (Petty blue)
or a black top & blue bottom

cool advert.

Those cars are GOLD! I used to get all pissy when I'd hear about a great classic sitting for years. I'd momentarily think about confronting the owner and giving him a bitch slap...."You're going to fix it up someday? You're 85 years old and blind...."
Then one day it just occurred to me that to some people, selling the car means to actually admit that it is OVER for you. You're done. There is nothing left. THAT can be really hard to admit for most people.

Just a suggestion.....

Pictures look so much better when they are taken in the traditional format. The standard "Smart" phone vertical format looks terrible.

Not trying to insult you here, but.....

Nobody looks like this!
I see many people recording pictures and video in the vertical "Portrait" format and shake my head....
Every computer screen, TV screen and movie screen is wider than it is tall. Vertical image format looks like you're staring through a doorway.
Again, I'm just suggesting how to get a better quality image.

The owner might as well put dirt on TOP of them as well.

Yep you are correct. Thanks

Sitting on mother earth all those years? If he was gonna restore them (which he aint) they would be on a paved driveway and covered or in a garage, ANY garage. Unless he has 300k sitting in the bank, and the energy of Tony little, he will die with those cars sunk in the ground. Shame.
