Hello, Been lurking for quite some time and am in the process of updating my 66' coronet 440 entire brake system.
From the many options and prices, ...oem moper(ram Man) to aftermarket ebay(pir*te Ja*ck and such), is there really any difference for the daily driver from those who have swapped?
Looking for complete disc kit including booster and master. If there"s a solid kit you've had success with, midline on pricing,as for ease, that would be the way id like to go.
Thank you in advance

I think you will be fine with any of the kits that sell you new spindles that are made for disk brakes. Avoid the cheaper kits that have adapters to convert your drum brake spindles.

Thanks, I was thinking along the same lines. looking for a full spindled kit with booster.
There are so many options in terms of master cyl bore, booster circumference, and disc sizing to consider,...I new this would be the place to get answers from those involved with this fun.

I like the kits with new spindles instead of adapter brackets as well. Pick a company that is known for good customer support. I have bought several kits from Dr Diff and couldn't be happier. Used to get the kits that Pirate Jack sells. They aren't bad, but Cass is way better. The Ramman gets a failing grade imo....

As far as brake boosters, if you get headers make sure they are for cars with power brakes. I also bought a booster that was made for header cars. (Smaller diameter)

I wanted to keep my spindles as I trusted the 50 year old metal more than the new stuff for such a critical component, so used a kit that converted them to disc.
Mine was a Leed Brakes kit supplied through PST. No issues with the conversion, quality was good, works great.
The booster did crap itself a few weeks back though (after 2.5 years) - they all use the same Chinese crap boosters.
I have a locally made booster now, problem solved.

I went with 1976 Dodge Aspen front disc brake spindles. Advanced auto has the rotors and calipers and lines.

I was pricing going this direction, for similar cost of components, as i need everything from the pedal out, i could get an aftermarket kit ....thats the direction i was thinking as they already did the sourcing, to many good options.

I've decided to go with the p-jack complete 12" disc kit...i could save some $$ piecing it together i realize. Has anyone had issue with any of there b-body disc components or boosters?..from what i gather, most parts, regardless of seller, are sourced overseas. Thanks again and this is a great old school forum:thumbsup:
