What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Modern car. Did some miles in Arizona. Good to get out of California and eat a meal INSIDE a restaurant.

I finished up a sheet metal brake for my shop. Every component except casters and some bolts came from my stock. The base horizontals are filled with sand for weight/stability. It's 50" wide so I can bend a 48" sheet. It even incorporates 2 318 Poly valve springs!

Planted seven shagbark hickory trees after clearing areas in the wood and digging/prepping the holes. Raining and temps in the 40s...no snakes out and about today. Perfect. Found a wild animal burrow. Left that alone and planted the tree elsewhere!

Cruised over to Lowes for various goodies.

Low-key day today.

I helped clear another lot for rebuilding after the fire.
3 years ago an old pickup broke down & caught fire below this nice elderly couple's house & burned it down. They had it rebuilt, lived in it a year and another :cursin: fire got it AGAIN last September!
This time it got all but one of his old tractors/cats.

Took the chainsaw to the kids clubhouse then had a nice fire, it's getting to be that time of year... Spring cleaning.

Made some progress...

I have white facing for the sides of the pantry, and black kicks for under the cabinets. Now I just need to tile the other 120sf of the room's floor. It was going to mark "kitchen" and "dining room"...but the kitchen don't fit! If I add the row where the loose tiles are in the photo, the "dining room" turns into a goofy looking strip of hardwood and it just looks out of balance. Meh. 12x24" tiles fill space pretty quickly.

(I also made a cheesy temporary floor for the Charger's back seat, and put the interior back in...I was tired of not being able to drive it while I wait until MAY for my AMD floor to come off backorder...)

I went from a four car attacked to a two. The basement was poured already and my wife liked the lot, it has a pond in the back yard. I had four cars last year and now we have two. It's all good, the wife is happy.
Congrats, looks pretty. Always good to set root somewhere eventually.

Went from freezing our butts off and rain every day last couple weeks to....POOF, time to mow!
Sheesh...I reckon there's a reason this is farming country.
Tractor time, graded the roads again, then hooked up the finish mower and cleared debris and mowed
a while on the north 40.
Yee ha.

Man, it happened so fast it literally caught me by surprise.
*BOING* You got grass! :D

I just now fell on my *** in the mud room, on carpeted concrete. Pulling my muck boots off and had my left foot in the boot jack and my right foot on the jack tail, but, not on it enough. I pulled my left foot up and backwards I went. lol. Landed on my tail bone and left elbow. Took some skin off my elbow but other than that I'm okay. My *** will hurt in the morning though....Jesus, did I just say that? LMFAO!!!!!!
And the older you get, falling down becomes more and more dangerous and it seems to escalate once you get into your late 60's. At least it did for me and I noticed I bruise easier over the last year or so.

Several years ago I bought a Connecticut U416 finger brake that only had 3 of it's original fingers. How do people lose this stuff? Someone used it for parts for a larger one that was missing fingers?? Oh well, got it cheap and then made new fingers and it's worked well for everything I've needed to do so far. Made a stand with wheels but wish now I had used 4 swivel wheels instead of 2.....but it's probably all I had on hand at the time.

Yeah, it's been several days now and my tail bone area is still tender...try to stretch twice a day to keep the muscles there from getting stiff.
