It's pissing down where I am, worst flooding I've seen in awhile.
Car is tucked away in the dry though :).

Had just been watching the weather and flooding reports. Have friends south of Sydney. I’d better check in and make sure they’re OK.

That looks bad
I hope all our members are safe, high & dry

seems **** like this happens regionally
it's not globally, thank goodness
sometimes like we are led to believe
some places really need the rain & are in a drought condition
yet others have an abundance or rain/snow etc.

Weren't Australia or parts anyway, in a severe drought recently too ?
it's your summer season (or the end of it) down under too, correct ?

almost like out west here, we either are "allegedly" dry
drought or full-on flooding in the low lands/valleys
with tons of rain down low, mudslides/floods especially near the coast
& record snows/cold in the mountains

winter here is lingering, can't win

Mother Nature sometimes "is one cruel BITCH"

We typically get huge rain for a few days every year - it's a country of extremes. This year it's hit Sydney so it's in the world news. If it was in wup-wup like it usually is then it wouldn't get a mention. They are always quick to link it to climate change but it's the worst flooding for 60 years apparently (in certain areas). So what happened 60 years ago to make worse floods? Wasn't climate change then was it? They don't mention building on flood plains, urban development that creates run-off that's measured in hours nowadays instead of days or weeks previously etc.

It's rained heavier than this before, but this time the ground was already sodden as it's been a wet start to the year due to La Nina.

I saw that. I would have to burn my house down if it was infested with snakes, spiders and mice.
yeah talk about getting the eebie jeebies
spiders especially, creepy lil' fuckers

down there they have some seriously deadly spiders
not to speak of the deadly snakes
