Here is my 64 sport fury I purchased 5 years ago (wrong trim I know). From far the paint looks ok but up close it’s 40 year old lacquer that needs to go. Also some hidden secrets underneath like horrible mini tubs that warped the quarters. Thought I would just share some of my adventure.

The mad scientist at work with the plasma cutter getting the tubs out. New quarters and inners going in and starting to strip engine bay

Nice work. Love the 64 plymouth I sold mine couple of years ago probably should have kept it.

Engine bay epoxy coat. Last guy used tremclad in the engine bay so 35 hours of scraping and sanding later...

I love 64 Sport Furys. Are you keeping the Belvedere trim?

the main reason I started this whole fiasco was to change back to the sport fury trim. I love it. And the paint was old lacquer so it all had to go. Next job is seam sealing the engine back and high build primer. This is my first build so it’s a learning experience.

Wow. That’s going to be a beautiful ride when you’re done. I love the early b body cars.:luvplace::steering::moparsmiley::usflag:

Guess I'm not too shocked by the bondo build photo. For some reason those quarters were very flat (front to rear) and often picked up a wave right in the area you show. That build is pretty hefty even considering that.

The mini tubs were welded to the quarter and I guess migged in to quickly which warped the quarter. 3/4” bondo fixed that but it lasted 35 years and didn’t look terrible so not a bad bondo job haha
