I want to put the heater/defroster unit in "Jigsaw" but I am lacking the one big duct that connects to the right side cowl vent. Anyone have any info on who sells these?
The heater box has been gone through, I just need the big duct on the right side.
I can't install it until I get one.

I believe that Detroit Muscle Technologies sells most all of the parts to rebuild the heater box’s. They might have what you need.

I think we need a picture? Air? No air? only the black rubber doughnut on right side with no air.

Just went thru this in the last year restoring ac/heater box. tried repairing ripped material several ways. I thought I had it fixed until I tried mounting it. That 90 deg. turn was way too much strain and the material just ripped away from the square section. I searched all over for replacement but could not find any. Blocked the part where it comes from the cowl with the original round collar so no air comes thru. I will use the left side vent to get fresh air into the interior. Good luck finding a replacement. Heater box only may have a different right hose than the ac/ heater unit.

This Charger and my other one were factory A/C but I'm converting this one to heater/defroster. I didn't even know what I was looking for.

If it is as simple as that rubber seal, that is great!
Thanks guys.

I only have experience with the A/C boxes that had that duct. I just figured that the heater/defroster used the same thing.

Now the only advice I can give you is to glue the seal to the heater box with 3M weather strip
adhesive. After the glue sets up, rub a small amount of petroleum jelly on the face of the seal.
Install the box and then take off the grate so you can see up into where the seal is with a mirror.
Use a flashlight and look at the seal towards the front of the car. The seal will probably be sitting
crooked because of the way the box goes in. Take a paint-stirring stick and with the mirror and
the flashlight, put the paint stick between the top of the seal and the cowl and push the seal back
out of the hole in the cowl so it's even all the way around. When I pulled my heater box out for
rebuilding, I couldn't figure why it was deformed so much. Now I know why. The box goes in at
an angle and the front of the seal gets stuck in the hole in the cowl. Nothing like being ****!

Thanks for everything but the "****" reference. I don't do the ***.

I was referring to ME being ****. I waste alot of time doing things to the nth degree.

Dang....Sarcasm and humor must be tough to detect. I thought the dancing banana would have helped relay that I was joking.

When someone says that they are ****, I think of the *** every time.

A/C box uses the big inlet duct. Jim at DMT was thinking about making these. Might try him

That AC duct can be a tad tough to come up with.
They were made from some kid of light fiber material, almost like paper . And are usually cracked or torn AND are 1966 thru 1970 B body with factory air only

On Thursday, I called DMT and ordered that seal....

I used drainage tile for defroster ducts and functions fine until you can find OE or OER. It comes in various sizes and may be adaptable to the heater duct as well, so you can get it on the road.

DMT has defroster duct material that's smooth on the inside so it flows more air!
Just Sayin!

Gates sells air intake hose for air cleaners that could be made to work for the a.c. cars in a pinch. Could start with the right diameter and mold it square on the end. Rockauto had the 3".
