I just saw a pile of ads that the last reply was "Bump"... I just want to know were they locked for doing that multiple times or is there a problem with the seller. It may help other members to know what happened... As usual Thanks in advance!

I think after a certain time with no post they lock. I pm the member if it is locked to see if they still have it and ALWAYS check feedback.

I know that BUT these are all current ads on the first page...

We need links so we know what you are talking about. We're the sellers non gold members? They are not allowed to bump their threads.

Maybe person selling is a business but trying to sell as an individual and joey found out.

There you have it.
Ok thanks. I have seen ads bumped for awhile that stayed by Non gold members but just not in bulk like that... You can delete if you like just really wanted to know if there was another issue...

I know but I have also seen many political things in the General forum over the years...
Depending on the content we will delete or move them as necessary. Some things like Covid discussions for instance might get left up until they start turning a corner towards politics. Then they are usually moved. If there is arguments and name calling they may get deleted.

Another thing that may get deleted is parts for sale or wanted in general threads. It's pretty obvious here that sale or wanted items need to be in the proper forum. Offers to buy or sell in general forums may also be deleted. (not the thread but the particular posts)

Something that just happened over on FABO: Duplicate sale threads will be deleted and also, comments on sale or wanted threads are not allowed and will be deleted.

While we're in here, I saw that the FBBO rules have been updated to require pictures of 'for sale' items....thanks for that!

Yes, Buying a $5000 engine over the internet with no photos isn't a good thing.

#3 of the rules says....."No Bumping of ads. No repeated posting of same ad for one week." However, members with Gold Membership ARE allowed to bump every 3 days and members with regular membership are allowed to repost an ad after 1 week.

And when you see something that's posted in the wrong place, go ahead and hit the 'report' button. It's impossible for us to see everything that's being posted (wrong or not) on the site. Don't think you're being a snitch if you do use the report button....think more about you're helping out in trying to keep the site running smoothly. Thanks!

#12 of the advertising rules says....."You need to post photos of the part/car with your listing." Maybe that wording hasn't been updated in that particular section yet but I recall that pictures were recommended for the benefit of a better advert. I know some still have a hard time uploading pics but I 'learnt' how to do it and if I can, anybody should able to lol
