OK Folks, last night I had a read of Way Too many judging rules for different organizations. This is what I found. If you are getting judged for the Real Deal. That is Corvette Gold, Mustang Gold, I do not know what MOPAR is as I could not find a comp organization, then it is not only top up but windows up as well. The glass gets judged as well as gaps. In Monterey and such, it is top up, windows up. Riddler, top up windows up, check condition and the gaps.
NOW, here is the kick. At those big judged events I understand that the Judges will Notify the car 15 minutes in advance of being judged. The person showing the car Must then be there to answer questions, open/close doors, hood, trunk all checking gaps and such. As well, start, run, lights, radio, top up/down and such. Soooo, THAT is NOT what World of Wheels is all about.
I read the Judging Rules from ISCA who does the judging for WOW. They say Nothing about top up or top down. What they do say and I found it to be interesting, is WOW or ISCA events are NOT Cours De Elegance type of shows. "We are Rod and Custom" and our judges are best schooled in Rod and Custom. Now, that makes sense to me. Not particularly a great deal for our car, but it makes sense. In short, "our judges are not schooled in every "original" aspect of every car, we can not be". Again, that makes sense to me.
So, here is our deal. What you see above is our Car. This is how we love it. We like the way it looks. We think our family will like the way it looks. I know better than to complain at WOW about how Mine is "original" and therefore ought to be treated differently. It is a Car Show that I can share with my wife, her Mom/Dad and some friends. In the scheme of life, the only huge part of this deal is the enjoyment we can have as folks come by. On Sunday, we will pack up and drive it home for fun use. Life is GOOD!! Best to you all, Brian
