I ordered a Ram clutch disc and pressure plate set from Summit.

It was on back order for 2 or 3 weeks.

When I got it, instead of the proper metallic disc There was a organic disc in the box.

Neither part had any numbers on it. It made me leary of what the pressure plate was also.

Summit was great, exchanged it for a Center force that is already on the way after 3 days.

Hmm not a fan of Summit, everything is always on backorder or it ships from the manufacturer. Their prices are not that good either. I'm sure they charged more for the Center Force, so sure they were glad to help you spend your money.

Hit n miss w them. Got a set of Comp Cams hydraulic roller lifters in a "bag", not original box. They were all bad, probably someone else's return. Summit exchanged for another set, in sealed Comp box. They at least stand behind their warranty.

Fair evaluation? In this case Summit is just selling what Ram supplied. By shipping from the manf they theoretically save additional shipping and stocking costs for a buyer. As far as back order goes, everybody on the planet is suffering from that right now. Finally, they appear to have handled the OPs issue with little hassle and he seems happy with it.

In comparison, I have used Summit for decades and and give them two thumbs up.

I love dealing with Summit, but like with ANY vendor, you need to do a little due diligence
on your end as well. Verify they have the parts in stock!
Their website is pretty good at indicating such - along with where the parts will be shipping
from (they have multiple warehouses), all which can be seen on your checkout cart before
hitting that final purchase button.
Further, I've had a couple issues with damaged stuff in transit or in one case, crappy quality
of an item and both times, their return customer service was stellar - no fussing, just got
me taken care of and in one instance, didn't even want the part back to get a refund!

I've had my issues with Summit in the past, but lately they have been doing very well.
I knew the clutch would be on back order when I ordered it . Many mfgs are out of stock.
My real problem is that Ram supplies the wrong parts.
No stamped or factory applied part numbers is a red flag to me.

Update;
My Centerforce clutch came in this week when I was out of town.
I just looked it over and the kit looks much more professional.
Part numbers and SFI numbers are on the parts, and documents are in there also.
As a bonus it looks like they match what I ordered.
Now I just hope it performs.
