Turncoat.. yeap I did just that!

I hear you, I told the salesman Weds when I went to look at it that women say men dont know what it's like giving birth and then said they havent bought many cars before....
I really like it, one thing it's missing is the remote start which I really want. I may go look at a 5 series this afternoon in the same range that has all the tech I want...Buying a vehicle makes my stomach turn...
I've known people with both BMW and Mercedes. They had about the same reliability, but the BMW parts cost a lot more when they were needed.

Surprised there aren't more Mazda fans on here. We ended our GM relationship with my wife's '99 Grand Am GT. Great car for a while, then intake gasket leaks, bad front wheel bearings, defective heater control resistors, bad water pump...Got to the point we couldn't trust it. We got the "family discount" when we bought but used all the money we saved on repairs. Now had 4 Mazda's. two Mazda threes, and two CX fives. Only three warranty repairs in total. Usually get 100,000+ kms out of brakes (GM dealer told us were lucky to get 50K on the Grand Am) and the cars never let us down. We love them. Don't get me wrong, I'd still love a new RAM pick up for myself, but my trusty old 4 cylinder Ranger is still going strong at 145,000 km's so I guess I'll stick with it.

Ya that was my worry, but I got online and priced out common consumables, rotors, pads, o2 sensor, ball joints, end links ect and did not see anything ridiculously priced.
The price point is where I wanted to be, actually ended up less, got it for $12k. Retail has been around $15-16k so I'm happy.
Everything domestic in that segment was a high mileage abused beater. Other than a small stitch needed on the drivers side it's like brand new, even with 90k.
Who ever their detailer is , he is amazing. I could not find a spec of oil or grime anywhere in the engine compartment. Unless this thing was garaged and only driven on sunny days...

Being in Canada that surprises me, do you guys not use much salt? Down here you can't find Ranger rear frames in the salvage yard because they rotted away so quick and got picked over. My neighbor brought his over and asked if I could weld his bumper back on, I looked under it and said.. to what lol. It was rotted nearly in half above the rear axle as well, ended replacing the frame from the cab back.

Lots of salt=rusty frames etc in Syracuse ny but now I’m in sunny Georgia.
I believe that Toyota’s Honda’s and Hyundai’s have better value; last longer and are less expensive. I also think the level of pride in the individual employee and dedication to the car, the business, the brand is very different than it was 50 years ago.the last guy that helped me with my 68 mopar drove over ina Toyota pickup with 350K miles and running and looking great.

The trick is to get them oil sprayed every year. Mine's a 2011 with 146K on it and zero rust. We get all of our vehicles sprayed every year.

I have two Dodges made in Mexico, a Toyota made in the US, two Plymouths made in the US, a SAAB built by GM, a Volvo built by Ford and another Volvo built by some Chinese firm.
What does a foreign car even mean these days?
