I recently got a new pair of brake calipers (slider style type) which were powder coated. Should I sand off and polish the slider ways on the adapters and the caliper (brake pads and caliper move very slightly when applying the brake/the pads wear) or just use them as they are (powder coated)?
Thanks

I would use as is. A little silicone grease or antisieze could be used as lubricant on the ways.

I heard both about using grease/anti-seize: use it as a lubricant and don't use it as it will collect brake dust (and therefore make it seize)..

Regular grease will not last there, but anti-seize will. SilGlyde would also work, but it is spec'ed more for where rubber parts are involved. I would leave any powdercoating or even paint in place for rust protection, just as long as its sliding in the channel easily upon assembly.

I have been using antisieze for this purpose for at least 30 years with no bad result.
