A 4 wheel drive Dodge pick up with a tow rope would straighten that right out.

Really? Everything is a bloody conspiracy theory around here! Looks like, from what I've read, it lost all power including rudder control. I know it's a big old unit....but i can't quite understand why it would take so long to free....

For something that went into service in the last half of 2018, it really isn't an old unit.

Most conspiracies are exactly that until it's proven otherwise as we've seen with many things the past few years. Details details...details, up to, during and aft.
 
Sounds like someone screwed up and now will have to pay for it. I bet they wish they would have dropped anchor quick.

Thing monster is about a 1/4 mile long, and suck in the mud at both ends

Probably gunna be a project in itself to get it out
 
Probably will have to unload the thing before they can free it.....but that in itself probably won't be easy or quick.
