I have some pitted lettering that l was going to repair and was wondering if anyone has had any decent results with "Chrome Paint" The stuff I've tried looked like aluminum paint.

Here's a side-by-side of a repop chrome radio bezel vs. the Molotow pen. They are as good as you will find. They Molotow stuff doesn't wear as well, but it's easy to touch up.

I think I bought the 2mm and 4mm tip pens, they were both under $15 each at the time.

How fast does it dry ? Is there any problems with overlapping lines ? I was going to use it for the trunk letters.

I would not use it on any exterior parts. It doesn’t wear well and you can’t clear over it like regular paint.

There are some people that have found some clears that only dull the chrome effect slightly, but it’s really for models and props, not stuff that sees real exposure to the elements.

This stuff looks awesome, l think I'll etch prime my letters, paint them with the same paint as my car and top coat with "Ghost Chrome" and finish with a clear coat. You guy's are great.

Alsacorp specializes in chrome paint, and they make a clear for just that purpose. $79 per gallon.

it may be applied over any color basecoat to achieve metal type reflections and will remain transparent enough to show the underlying base color.
