I've got a knock and I have no idea where I should start troubleshooting. See video description for details. It only happens at idle and is way more pronounced when cold. Thank you for any help.
What am I looking for when I pull the covers? I've got the passenger side off already, didn't see anything unusual.Sounds like a valve slapping the top of a piston - it's running like crap also. Pull you valve covers off and don't start it. Putting a hole in the piston is not good.
Loose rockers - check for play on push rods. Look for spring retainers pieces or loose springs. Only the first step. What am I looking for when I pull the covers? I've got the passenger side off already, didn't see anything unusual.
Simple fix. Just think if you tore the thing down and found nothing. Your video pretty much made me about 95 percent positive it was not internal.Another case of loose flex plate bolts. They sure did cause a lot of noise for only being about a turn or two loose. Knocking is gone, I guess that 496 stroker is going to have to wait
Wouldn't hurt buy one of these

That is the torque converter bolts. Put the car in gear and lightly power brake it. I'll bet the sound goes away.
