torsion bar plug??

Isn't the seal the boot?
The seal/boot holds the grease on the front side. Really don't need anything on the rear. I wonder if the plug just takes up the slop in the bar to mount? I don't know if it is even necessary, but my Duster does have more clearance than my B-bodies do. I actually put a couple of washers ahead of the clip on that car.
 
I actually have a few of those plugs. They are just a flat nylon/plastic disk. I don't recall when or where I got them. I don't recall if either my 65 Fury or 65 Belvedere had them. I will look for the plugs and post a pic if I find them.
 
Maybe it is a 67 only thing? Here is a pic from my 69 parts catalog, it's not shown here.

Maybe they used an older exploded drawing. Somebody didn't get the memo to eliminate the plug.:D
