Hey everyone. I recently acquired a ‘66 Satellite with a 318 engine. Looking to the experts here for what type of oil I should use in this car. Recommendations?

I'm using 15w40 in my 413. Diesel oil, because it has zink. 10w30 would be good as well as long as you you use a zink additive.ruffcut

Im using conventional 10W30 with high ZDDP (Zink)

VR-1 is probably the easiest high zinc oil for most people to source locally.

Also Penn Grade, Driven Hot Rod, Lucas Hot Rod & Classic...... and plenty of others.

Just make sure the description mentions classic cars, Muscle cars, high zinc, etc.

Check the price of Shell Rotella Diesel Oil in your area. Could be less expensive than comparable "muscle car/high zinc" oils.

For the german users i can recommend rektol klassik oil. It's pretty good stuff... (And what i'm using)

I use Lucas Hot Rod and Classic high zinc oil 20w-50.

10-40 Amsoil signature synthetic high zinc.

I use this only in 10W30, we use a lot of their products at work so getting it is easy for me.. not sure where you can buy it.

Here are the actual pages from your (you do have one, right? ) Factory Service Manual. Just use current replacement grades, specs are the same.
