I think my vapor canister might be clogged in my 440. A lot of people say you don't need it just plug the vent line. What do you guys think.?

IMHO those people telling you that you don't need it have no idea what they're talking about. They're needed to prevent vapor lock.

A vapor canister is for emissions. It vents the gas vapors back to the tank. It does not cause vapor lock.

CORRECT....it does not prevent vapor lock. Origionally, Mopar did not use a vapor storage canister, but used the engine's crankcase to "store" the vapors. The stored vapors were purged thru the PCV system upon start up. Later, as emission control became more stringent, the activated carbon canister was adopted with a vacuum controlled purge system. The activated carbon ADSORBES rather than ABSORBES the vapor so the carbon granules can be cleaned by purging with air and will not become saturated, if the vapor was absorbed.
